Wow, this fic is beautiful. I'm so happy I found it. I mean, really, everything about this story is amazing. I don't know if I can do it justice in a comment. The sex scenes were really good - not just smut but with real emotion in them, and real people. I often get bored reading smut, but this felt more character driven, and that made it more beautiful. Each reality was really well-made and thought out, and the little differences made it that much more real. Like Akenaten not changing his name. And what he learned about himself, about other people, about the worlds, in each reality - that was really fun and interesting and well done. There were a lot of feels. And I'm glad he got to help out in several of them, doing something for them, like the one with his mom thinking he was crazy. I think by the end there she was almost believing it. Oh, shit, the one right after our Daniel was the one from the apocalypse AU, who might or might not be entirely stable. I hope there was a flash of light, because otherwise that last one might convince her he really was crazy. Now I'm wondering how he reacted to her. And how the other Daniels reacted to and were changed by their journeys. It was really fun, and I'm so glad you wrote it.
So after reading this I had the idea to write a similar story, only with Star Wars, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. I thought I should ask if you'd be alright with that, since I got the idea from you. I don't know if the idea will ever be written, since I read fic much more than I write, but I already have ideas for all the different realities.
Totally. More fic in the world is good for the world! Also, it's sort of a trope, I think, so I don't feel I can take any credit. There are a few AU reality hopping fics I've read. Heck, the new Harry Potter play is practically an AU reality hopping fic in some ways. There's even some SG-1 fic where various people get to explore lots of realities, though I can't think of any I just adored, honestly.
Well, that's true that it's pretty much been done before. But as you were the one who inspired me in this case, I'm still going to list you as having inspired me. :)
