    This is a wonderful start to what I hope is a longer story. We never wanted Lavinia to die, just to find her own happiness. She truly was a selfless person. Matthew still being oblivious to Mary’s love? Still thinking she is toying with him? I’m glad he realizes she has matured. The war really matured their relationship. Of course he does not know what Richard holds over her head. I hope there are future chapters!

      Yes, this is just chapter one. I have 2 and 3 done, I just have to fine tune them before posting (hopefully 2 will be up by the weekend).

      And Matthew is just being stubborn at this point. He'll be better in the next chapter :⁠-⁠)
