  1. Yes. In fact, Yoda entertained the possibility of the prophecy being misread in Revenge of the Sith. Maybe they did misread it. It seems that balance in the Force can never be achieved, as no matter what our heroes do, something always turns up to unbalance the Force again.

    1. What about the Father on Mortis, he seemed to know more about it than even Yoda?
And then there was Darth Tenebrous; he had a twist of a plan where he would essence transfer with Anakin, so he would be the Chosen One, and change things so the Jedi Order just....vanished.

      1. I don't think I saw the Mortis arc, so I don't know about that.

        1. Truth be told, neither have I.
Basically, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka meet three powerful Force god beings on Mortis, and one of the manifestations of the Dark Side shows Anakin his future as Vader, but his memories are erased. I don't know all the details, but that's the gist. The Father, the central figure, wanted Anakin to take his place since he could bring balance. I've always suspected that balance is like being on a see saw, keeping both sides of the Force on equal mass, giving one side its time, and then the next, like night and day.

          1. I see. Yes, I suppose the see saw idea is a good way of doing it. I've always thought that balance meant toeing the middle line, having an equal amount of light and dark.

            1. Yes, me too.

              1. That's true balance, not leaning completely into one side.

                    1. I do wonder who made the prophecy in the first place.

                      1. Now that's something we've never found out. Regarding Dooku, he did have a genuine respect for Obi-Wan, so he probably was sincere when trying to get him to join him. I like that Tales of the Jedi fleshed Dooku out more.

                        1. No.
Oh he did, a lot of it stemmed from Qui-Gon. I only saw a few clips - the death of Yaddle.

                          1. Yeah, I saw that clip too. Proves that Windu was wrong when he claimed that Dooku couldn't assassinate anyone. And it explains why Yaddle was absent from the rest of the prequels. Her seat on the Council was taken by Shaak Ti.

                            1. I wonder what the investigation into her...disappearance turned up.

                              1. Evidently not much, since Windu and Mundi both believed that Dooku couldn't kill anyone. I think Dooku killed Sifo-Dyas too, which is pretty impactful, since they were friends.

                                1. Sifo-Dyas was Dooku's sacrifice for the Dark Side.

                                  1. And he used Sifo-Dyas' security clearance code to delete Kamino from the Jedi Archives.

                                    1. I still don't see the point behind that; sooner or later the clone wars would have begun, the Jedi would have wanted to supervise or collect fresh soldiers, and they would need to know where the planet was, and they would be suspicious if they found it missing from the archives. What was the point?

                                      Comment Actions
                                      1. Good point. It's possible that Dooku though of that, as although he deleted Kamino and it's star from the archives, gravity's silhouette remained in place, which a youngling used as a clue to suggest that the planet had simply being erased from the archive.

                                        1. And he couldn't delete the whole chart without doing it to the others.

                                          1. And he deleted Dagobah for some reason too.

                                            1. I don't get that, but it turned out the Sith helped the Jedi, and they didn't even know or realise. How ironic.

                                              1. Yeah. They inadvertently gave Yoda a perfect hiding place.

                                                1. I wonder how Dooku would have reacted had he realised.

                                                      1. Yes. When Dooku was deleting Kamino and Dagobah from the archives, I wonder what other edits he made to the files.
