in terms of how tris feels, I feel that you captured her emotions of frustration really well! clearly, she doesn't live in the best of circumstances, as its already assumed by her cousins that she would take any old raggy thing that they gave to her, and I can just sense the passive aggression behind their own words and actions, despite maintaining a sugary and sweet tone of voice. then they complain about her being ungrateful, but its clear that their long-term mistreatment of her as taken a toll, with possibly negging, and backhanded compliments. I understand how she feels, and I can see why she would want to leave everyone in the dust after.
