    Daemon deserves bashing lmao, he treated his wives terribly in the show and he's not going to be exempt from that. Perhaps he did deserve better, but he also did plenty of awful things. And he was a shitty father to his daughters, ignoring them does not make him a decent parent.
    As for dany mentions, it's because she is important, and jon was the one who killed her so laena wouldn't praise him lmao. It's fine if you're more of a jon stan but I'm not, so don't expect any praise for him. And I doubt laena would be either given the fact that the men in her life weren't that good to her.
    That being said, I don't mean any offense to you. If you don't like the fic or where it goes, you don't need to read. I've been pretty honest in what will be written in my tags. Hope this reply somewhat explains what you were wondering.

      You know what? I'll give you that, he treated Rhea very very badly, but it was mutual, imo. She also could have asked for an Annulment along with Daemon. That might just have saved them both near two decades of misery. Maybe not though, with how against granting one his family was. It might be the fault of the fanfictions I have read but he seems to always accept Rhaenyras kids as his own. Usually it seems like one of the twins is shy or questions whether he is disappointed that she isn't a dragonrider, but the other usually seems to also have a decent relationship with him. He was also absent alot because of a war going on. I do believe that Daemon used Rhaenyra and Laena, but I also 100% believe they both used him as well. No one is innocent here. Does she show like make him a total deadbeat or something? He teaches Rhaenyra Valyrian, the histories of their family, even picks her egg. He always brings her trinkets from his travels and he teaches her to value family. The videos and conversations I have had with people about Daemon typically say everything he does is for his family and to further make it strong. He raises swords for, convinces lords to support Viseryes over Rhaenys, or otherwise threatens them to get support for the Council. Though I do think Rhaenys would have been a far better Queen than Viserys as King. He may talk about Viserys as weak and say things about him, but he doesn't let others say whatever they want about him. Doesn't he like threaten Corlys about talking shit about Viserys? He beheads Vaemon for speaking out about Rhaenyras kids. Most of the cruel or monstrous things he does is for his family, or at least that is the vibe I get. The one thing I never liked though was the whole Blood and Cheese thing. But aside from that? He just seems like a very flawed person who was given a really shitty hand and tried his best to get acknowledgement from his brother by acting out but also by protecting him from himself and trying to be in a position where he could protect his family as a whole but was constantly pushed away again and again due to his sometimes extreme measures.

      I mean, yes Dany is important, so is Jon. I fully believe Jon killed Dany so she didn't become worse and worse. He killed who she became (though I also believe they did her dirty, she wouldn't have gone mad) so as to preserve who she was. I honestly think if he was the one that went mad that Dany would have done the same thing. They loved eachother too much to see them go deeper and deeper into the descent of madness. I know I would rather someone end me when I was becoming who I wasn't, who I feared to become. I rather hated the path they chose to go, making him have a meltdown over his heritage just to separate him and Dany just so they had a way to isolate her and cause her to go mad. I think that Dany should have sat Jon the heck down and they should have let her be there for him at such a lowpoint in his life and they would have gotten all the closer for it. Then when Varys and Tyrion try their shit, he would be there for her. But nooo, we get him being a self-righteous woe is me I don't know who I even am anymore cry baby that is dragged on for wayyyy too long and we get a Dany who doesn't stand up for herself and is isolated from people who would stand up for her for contrived reasons.

      Anyways, that was kind of a rant, I am sorry. I really think the show messed everything up on what could and should have been and they copped out and thought of an easy way to end the show.

      I didn't take any offence, and I hope you didn't either. I was just curious based on the tags and end notes. I wanted to know if it was something I wanted to read before I started. One chapter being this long implies a really, really long story, at least that is the vibe I got. I didn't want to start something if I wasn't sure I would end up liking it or not. I absolutely love long stories for the most part, but I usually read them when they are already pretty far along or completed.
