    I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE — me the entire flower scene

    “‘So who’s in?!’ Todd parrots, his voice finally as loud as Neil’s and consequently the loudest he’s ever heard his roommate.” okay so this made me instantly think of how if Neil didn’t die in this au, then Todd never had “NEIL” be his yawp and I may or may not have made myself cry a little. But the stuff immediately following that definitely cheered me up, at any rate

    NEIL’S DAD, IF I CATCH YOU, IT’S ON SIGHT, I SWEAR

    “Neil mentally plans on just jumping off the roof and hoping for the best. It’s guaranteed that he would die, but that would probably be better than whatever wrath he would have to face from his father if he was caught.
    Fortunately, his premature plans of suicide are cut short...” HEY UM YOU CAN’T JUST SAY THIS. WHY would you do this to me aaahhhhghghghaihdas

    Neil, seeing Charlie be heterosexual: ew wtf why would anyone do that

    I can’t believe Neil’s first thought of the art application was Charlie instead of Todd, like c’mon dude, you KNOW Todd stays to talk to Mr. Keating. Smh Neil is so silly

    Another great chapter! I mean it when I say you had me grinning and kicking my feet, but I still can't help but have a bit of anxiety anytime Neil's dad is mentioned just because of what happened in the movie... Like I KNOW this is a fix-it but you're doing a great job at building that tension up anyway ;)

      The entire flower scene was self indulgent and I don't even care that it was anymore lmao. Also yes I will never have Neil be Todd's yawp because I need some semblance of happiness in this fic for my own sake, but that is a very crushing thought to have during such a happy scene. I should honestly add a tag that's like "Mr. Perry's A+ Parenting" (idk his first name lmao). Also I'm sorry about the jumping off the roof thing BUT HE WAS JOKING I promise!! I would not casually add in suicidal thoughts; Neil is just being a normal kid who jokes about committing suicide at the slightest inconvenience haha. Thank you for picking up on the parallels; sometimes they are accidental but it's still cool to see someone point them out!! Thank you for all of your compliments to my writing since they mean a lot! The tension will definitely go up from here, but hopefully it'll be balanced out by Neil and Todd along with the Poets' antics :)
