    Actually, I can't believe it took me so long to realize this, but Mikumo basically helped Izumi create composite bullets. I know Izumi was the one who invented them, but I thought at this point, they were already a thing and he was trying some new combinations out. Then I saw the end of the chapter about how composite bullets were officially recognized and went "oh, Dang, we're THAT behind the start of the anime?" Were composite bullets a relatively new thing, or did Mikumo apply to Border that early?

    Also, with Mikumo wanting to start a team for the developmental department, does that mean Tamakoma-2 is gonna be that team? 😲😲😲. Or is he gonna lead a new team entirely 😭😭😭.

      Yeah, I’m starting quite a bit before canon begins. We don't exactly know how long Osamu was a C rank before Yuma appeared, but we know he needed multiple attempts to pass the entry test, and then he was ‘stuck in C rank’, however long that was. I’m guessing both of those time periods would be the month at minimum. So easily half a year in total.

      For when Mikumo applied in canon, I think he took the first test after Rinji went to the neighborhood. Osamu isn't the person to wait in those kinds of situations, and since he joined Border on his first try in this timeline, he basically joined right after Hatohara left.

      But for the point of the composite bullets being a recent thing, I think so. Canon does not give us exact information, but I think we have a single picture that was shown when it was mentioned that Izumi invented them, colored in the style memories are usually shown, and Izumi looked the same as he did now, so I’m guessing pretty recent.

      And you don't have to worry about missing out on Tamakoma. I like their dynamics far too much to ignore. It will just take a while longer to get there. But no spoilers! :D
      (I have prewritten like 90k of this already. I just need to proofread and polish the whole thing, so I can guarantee we get to that point of the story. XD
