"Odysseus hugged his wife tightly, and prayed, directed toward none of the gods, that things would turn out fine."
I love that line. I also love the implication that Athena doesn't have a good relationship with anyone in her family. But MAN I'm so excited for her to wake up and receive some affection. I also love Odysseus pointing out that Zeus was holding back with him, compared to how he was with Athena
Thank you :D Ody was going through all the gods in his head and was like shit most of them hate me and/or Athena and the rest didn't help her either, guess gotta pray to the universe now XD Oh dw that affection is in the works :3 I find Zeus so fascinating/terrifying in this. For me it's the moment when he slices through Athena's wing (first of all, it has cutting Achilles' tendons vibes and that's among the scariest thing a villain can do in my book) bc it's such a precise strike that it shows he is still very much in control and choosing to do maximum damage to her, whereas with Ody's crew, he killed them in a single strike (again, precise, bc Odysseus got spared while they were feet away from him), so it's not maxing out that cruelty meter quite yet. idk. I think it's interesting. xx
