Comment on Empire Of Dark Music

  1. I'm so glad that chapter works the way I wanted it to, I felt like Miranda screaming calls back to her character at the start of the series in a seamless way.

Thanks to you I have magnificent plans for Tricia, hopefully in a way that still connects with what I've shown about her previously. And yes, you've remembered! I'm hoping to connect back to that too at some point.

I loved making decisions about the Noah that are appealing but still in line with the actual series, and I also wanted to make them sympathetic while still exploring how them became who they are. I hope the next few biblical chapters portray this as well as I wanted to!

I love Tyki and felt we went to long without him at this point, so here he is! I'm sure many people will appreciate that. And of course he brings apples, as per usual.

I'm glad you're still reading this, I haven't posted a chapter in a while because of severe writer's block, but I've been thinking of re-reading DGM to get my mind in gear.

    1. Miranda is going through a lot...it's nice to see her become more determined and confident too!

Thanks to you I have magnificent plans for Tricia
omg yay...curious about how this will play out.
I wrote a one-shot that hints at potential future developments that could lead to Tricia deciding to get a divorce, but idk if I'll ever write a follow-up. I'm interested in life developments for this extremely minor character.

The Noahs are objectively terrible, but can also be sympathetic in a lot of ways, so this kind of character exploration is fun.

I was slow at getting back to reading, but I am still reading this! Good luck, I hope your writer's block dissolves.
I know my own writing phase will end at some point, but not yet. I've decided to take on a longer Jasdevi-centric project, and now I have to research mining.

      1. I don't mind the pace that other people read at, it gives me time to start writing again without too much pressure! Good luck with your own work, both of the stories you mentioned sound exciting!

        1. Oh good, I'm glad my slowness in catching up is actually a good thing, lol. Hope that writer's block is going away.

Are you at all interested in reading dgm fics, or just writing them? Asking in order to know whether to rec one of my fics. If you're not interested, no worries. My own interest in fic is sporadic. (Mostly I read books.)

          1. Oh yeah, I don't mind recommendations! I can't promise I'll get to them immediately but I'll definitely save them to read in the near future.

            1. Ok cool! I'll link my epic Jasdevi fic Cradle of Time and let the summary speak for itself. This is my fic with the most plot and emotions. I will say I got Miranda's powers kind of wrong, oops.

              1. Saved! I'll try to read it as soon as I can. And don't worry about it, I'm sure my interpretation of Miranda's powers isn't exactly correct either?

                1. No hurry, if you read it at all I'll be delighted! There isn't much interest in Noah fics in 2024. Or any side character fics, really.

Your writing of Miranda's powers seems accurate to me! I'm not a Miranda expert though. At least I remembered while writing my fic that she can't perma-resurrect people, and their injuries come back.

I'll keep reading Empire of Dark Music and see where the journey across Europe, the quasi-Biblical past, and Sherril's mindscape goes.

                  1. Of course! You've stuck with me through my insane ramblings so far, it's only fair.

I think Miranda is the only Innocence I can write, actually. I could probably manage one or two others, but Miranda interests me the most from a writing standpoint.

I am in fact hoping to take them through a few more countries if I can make them make sense! And I'm hoping the next few biblical chapters are as interesting as I'd like them to be.

                    1. Miranda's Innocence is great because it's powerful, but not overpowered to the point she can bring characters back to life, and it's angsty because she can only temporarily erase injuries so she forces herself to stay awake as long as she can. The details fit the dark tone of dgm. The Anita arc was very tragic. :(

I know more about the Noahs' powers because of the characters I focus on. We don't know much about the Noah Memories themselves, though--I went wild with heacanons about how Bondom works in my longfic. I enjoy seeing your take as well, a half-angels origin is cool.
A lot happens in the manga and I've lost track of a lot of details. And a new thing, "spiral energy" was just introduced...

Ha, well, there are a lot of countries Miranda and Sheril could travel through! More time to sightsee and get to know each other. I'll comment on the biblical chapters once I get there. :)
