Comment on Flying in Formation

  1. So this was part of why Sunstorm was so happy about having a spark later. Oh, no, Suns, don’t think so little about yourself 🥺

Fortunately, Ramjet is on the case! (He’s scheming! And he has blackmail! Go, boy, go!) I hope it doesn’t explode in his (and Sunstorm’s) face. But, considering Starscream’s luck, I’m afraid that leaving the decepticons it’s gonna be hard… I know that these two succeeded but even so…

It’s really interesting thou, how much the others' perspectives define Sunstorm’s interpretation of himself and the world he lives in: It could be just him being the small part of Screamer’s desaires of being accepted, but his naivety feels a lot like he’s a real child growing up: He’s curious about the world and craves aprovation from the role figures he has, and doesn't have a good frame of reference on how to act when they act wrong on him. He more that the others, feels like he’s really growing

On the other hand, the decepticons are decepticons and everything Starscream made is going to be judged (Fair, I guess) and the clones aren’t the exception. How is anyone going to break Nature's Law? And Starscream of all of mechs bringing new life to the world? Hard to believe. (Still mad at you Blitzwing, you gave a crisis to the nicest clone 😠)

Hope you have a good time with your family, author! 🫶🏼

    1. Thanks for commenting!

Such is the life of being a natural kiss up people pleaser, poor Sun. It's struggle sometimes to make sure I avoid writing Sunstorm as if he were a child, but his people pleasing, easy going, curious nature makes it almost inevitable a lot of the time. Oh well!

      1. Oh, well, that’s not right. The clones (the Transformers in general) don't make good tradicional children when it comes to canon. (although I do like a good kidformers fanfic from time to time) Now I feel a little bad for babyfing Sunstorm… yikes. I’ll work on it.

But I like how the clones rely on others because they’re so new in the world and there’s a lot of things they don’t know: It’s such a big world they have been put on, after all. How they learn to behave through it and how they grow their own personalities, likes and dislikes through time is so interesting and this has been more distinguishable (wow, that’s such a word in English 😦) on Sunstorm’s journey: here he’s more willing to be push over and make what he was comand to do, but later he will be able to challenge even Screamer and won.

I’m sure the others were the same, like that part of Slipstream struggling with her individuality and her desire of socialization or Thundercracker turning more conscious and caring about people he likes, and I think Sun’s arc here is a good form of summarize it: they are really becoming in more than meets the eye (pun totally intend)
