    Oof, that Bible camp is a nightmare. I’m so glad Kellah continues to stand up for herself and agitate abusive authority figures, whether by challenging the camp instructor’s hypocrisy or defying her mother with jokes about the devil. Mainstream religion really is a cult. (And she really is falling for Draco, in spite of his attraction to the Dark Arts! It’s so cute to watch.)

    "Hermione, it's summer holiday. I know you stayed up to read books with a torch."
    Startled, Kellah turned her head at the sound of a book being closed in her ear. "Right, what's the trouble?"     < Hahaha Kellah totally caught her. 🤣

    I can’t believe Kellah’s parents threw out her clothes and then locked her in her bedroom! Wait...yes, I can. They’re bloody awful. But at least she escaped to Hermione’s house, and she was permitted to stay.

    I like seeing how she’s growing into her own person: she’s more confident, she’s thinking critically about the world around her and how other people react to her based on their perceptions or what they want from her. I felt bad when she noticed that boys only wanted to talk to her to try and get to Hermione, but at least she does have some male attention waiting for her at Hogwarts.

    And speaking of Hogwarts:

    "I am not buying seven books by the same guy for school. It is obviously a scam." 😂😂😂

    My goodness, I love that she picks up on this. Sometimes I scratch my head and wonder how Dumbledore didn’t see it; but then I remember the curse on the DADA post and I figure that no one else had applied for the job, just like with Umbridge a few years later. Dumbledore likely had his hands tied.

      She is very different from who she was at the start of the first fic. She is more confident more sure of herself. She is becoming a tween. I carefully curated her personality to the extent that they did for Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite. Because at the end of the day she is an OC with a movie canon name. But she doesn't have anyone else's personality or abilities and I don't give her the typical abilities of a witch or wizard.
