Like Ingrid I too would just stare at him in nothing but his underwear 🤣The mirror is so poignant, the Soldier not really recognizing his reflection, not knowing the color of his eyes 😭😭😭And now the intrigue with the Baron's little plan ... (and again I really like how you're handling languages in this story)
The Soldier's inability to recognize himself—right down to not even knowing the color of his eyes—says so much about his disconnection from humanity and his own identity. It’s such a poignant detail, and I’m thrilled it resonated with you! As for Ingrid, she definitely couldn’t help herself! I mean, how could she? 🤣 But beneath the surface, her reaction also highlights her mix of curiosity, concern, and subtle horror as she realizes just how damaged and alien this man before her really is. And yes, the Baron's "little plan" is unfolding, isn’t it? Intrigue is brewing! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the language handling, too—I really love languages. I am French, but I regularly speak English, I studied German for 7 years and lived in Germany for 1 year, and I can read the Cyrillic "alphabet" and know a few words in Russian, haha. Oh, and I know a bit of Spanish since I live near the French-Spanish border :)
