    I feel like it’s because without kiri, or without anyone to support him in that way, he would’ve been dead. Maybe he suffocated during the attack with the villain he first ran into in episode one, given it’s a middle school photo?

    Cause the only other moment, I think, is Kamino that he could’ve died from but at that point he’d be in UA. He should be in that uniform then
