Do we think this has something to do with proximity? I really do wonder why fake!varric, if it was controlled by Solas or even if it was all in Rooks head, never really left the infirmary or the library. Mechanically, I assume they didn't want to animate him in other rooms but I really feel like it would've sold everything better.

IT WAS SO GROSSSSSSSSSS. I hated it. The heartbeat sound from the boils just absolutely sent me scrambling for my volume.

Solas stepped closer, his movements measured as if approaching something fragile but volatile. “Exhaustion lies on you heavy. Dare I guess that the waking world is in trouble?” hehehehe... snarky snark, poking the tired BB. Careful Solas, I suspect she bites.😏
“You can ask me anything else other than the horrors of the world.” She said. Her shoulders sagged, as if they couldn’t hold the weight of today anymore, her hands dropping in a bit of a dramatic fashion. She hated how she felt as if he could see through the cracks she fought to hold together.
Yesss! Love her forcing him to engage on a personal level. I wish we'd gotten more options for Rook to resist his "help" even if it meant some additional consequences.
“And why is that, Rook?” he asked, his voice dropping to a near whisper, as he leaned closer, now barely inches away from her. “Is it the intimacy of being known that frightens you?”

Lovely chapter! The changes to the canon dialogue were wonderful and I'm excited to see how their relationship is going to develop!
