[“You think so? I know she and Harley have been friendlier lately but—” Victor burst into laughter. “Dick, that was clearly a joke.] To be fair, she might, if he approached her the right way about it.
[“It's red tape, man. ] Red tape and green paper, because I'm sure someone's salivating over getting that contract.
[It felt a little inappropriate, considering the setting. ] Jane might've helped them with the guards, but I'm getting a bad feeling about her. Maybe she's just interested in Nightwing (and who could blame her?), but doing it during a business meeting, while someone else is there, and not even offering Cyborg a cup of tea? Yeah, not getting good vibes.
[“She’d been flirting with me for weeks, but I never reciprocated. I hoped she would’ve taken the hint that I'm not interested.”] Well, I hope she's not the type to try to get back at him somehow for turning her down. Not sure how she could, with the contract already signed and all, but there's probably some loophole somewhere that she could screw him over with if she's feeling vindictive.
Oh, can you imagine having a contract with a hero, let alone an entire team!? I'd make sure every future customer knew that I was the one who signed them—framed on the wall and everything. 🤣
Yes, I wrote Jane to have both good and bad qualities. Helping with the guards but also flirting when she should've remained professional. She won't be coming back. I just used her as a catalyst for the story.
