Comment on Where did I go right?

  1. Bad or wrong? Definitely not. The only thing that gives it away is some slightly awkward phrasing that appears occasionally, and the only reason I suspected is because I've seen it anywhere from dozens to hundreds of times before. No big mistakes are being made, just small ones like a missing word (it, I, he/she, etc) that are not always used in a first language, and thus get skimed over while writing sometimes (usually subconsciously while in deep concentration, or that get filled in by the brain because you know what you meant, so the brain fills it in for you).

"understanding what meant to question his direct superiors so bluntly."
Is one such sentence in chapter 5, where "it" is missing, so it's awkward but understandable. "understanding what it meant"

It doesn't happen often, and most people will likely just think typo or forgotten word while typing, but in my experience it's usually caused by writing in a secondary or tertiary language and the first language has a different grammatical structure wherein that word doesn't exist or isn't used much, such as when the language always has one refer to objects by their name or the language indirectly references things via syntax.
