This fic is shaping up to be something quite awesome! I loved the animatic and I’d read the oneshot a while back, so I’m glad to see it’s all getting fleshed out. I grabbed a few of my favorite lines from this!
“ He saw Deacon’s shoes appear next to his, heard the familiar stomp of his grandfather running behind them, and a dress appeared next to Deacon’s shoes. “ I really like presenting character entrances from the potential view of the main character. Chase’s lack of focus combined with his conflicted feelings make so that the appearance through footsteps makes the most sense— Like Prunella makes hers by tugging on him, making him notice her directly. It was clever!
“ Chase knew at that moment, that this was what it meant to be loved, truly and deeply. “ This one hit me in the feels. It’s the way the scene is described with fondness, the way a rose-tinted memory of a gone loved one tends to be. A beautiful capture.
“ “Chase,” A soft smile on him, the blond hair he and Chase shared glowing in the sunlight. He held Chase’s hand, gently placing the shell into Chase’s, “You are going to experience many forms of love. But, one day, you’ll experience a love unlike one you have ever thought possible. You’ll meet someone who will learn every little thing about you, who will love every bit of you, who will find you again and again. No matter what happens. That type of love is rare, but it exists. And if you love them back just as much,” He cups Chase’s hands, “Never let them go. No matter what destiny or the universe tries to say or do. You both will always find your way back to each other.” “ My new personal headcanon is that this is a bit of a red string universe. This is very red string core! And it’s nice, in my opinion. I like the way George is portrayed as nothing but loving— Again, grief and memorical representation.
