AHHHH thanks for saying that. I want her to come off as realistic, and I think for someone whose only impression of authority was her abusive and neglectful father, having someone show her even the smallest amount of kindness like Jod has, she'd going to naturally be drawn to that despite how not a great person he actually is. And she knows this because she knows how pirates work but she just can't help it, and I thin that's what makes it so tragic to me because Jod will always view her as just another person he can use no matter how much he denies that he actually cares about her. At the end of the day, he will always value material possession more because its how his mind is wired after how he grew up. They're both hungry, just for different things.
