Comment on The Dark Survivor

  1. Huh, I didn't know it was a giant DCU/RWBY project. Thought this was a one off story but that's cool, was actually planning to do something similar with a fic where Whitley becomes Spider-Man but I put it on the backburner, there was something about there being a Daredevil operating in Mistral.

Btw, what does Bat-Whitley think of the Happy Huntresses, I'm assuming Whitley lets them operate because they are doing good? Wonder if they overlap much. Would be hilarious if he just got a Robin out of Fiona.

    1. 1) To be fair, Arc of Steel doesn't have it's own set aside story by AJT. He made snippets and the idea grew from there. Not to mention it literally just started (Arc of Steel is 2 Chapters, Origin of an Immortal is a One-Shot, and the other Canon Bits like "Rise" is are One-Shots too). Shadow of a Schnee is straight up the MOST developed of the initative. That said, I OPENLY INVITE you to the SB Thread to add your own Parallel Story. We who run the thread encourage that people join in to make a fully fledged world with different hero stories. SuperJaune as a protag of his own individual story, WonderPyrrha as her own protag for her story, BatWhitley in this, and so forth. We would love to further grow and bolster our AU. Of course, it doesn't fit a Marvel theme, and is instead DC, so you may have to work around that to some extent, but so long as you're willing we're happy to accept!

      2) So the Happy Huntresses are what he considers "beneath his radar." They help Mantle, (in all sorts of ways), are mostly legal, (you have to remember that the HH crimes only started in force when Ironwood got control of Atlas in the wake of the Fall of Beacon and the Battle for Haven, as Ironwood had been focusing resources on Vytal/Amity {away from Mantle} for an ultimate power move, which they were unaware of, and as such all of those circumstances don't exist yet for them to engage in crimes), as well as operate on a more street level. They're Huntresses, don't me wrong, but they don't bust corrupt corpos with actual evidence. They don't institute real change. (This is why Robyn wanted to BE on the Council, so she can START doing this, meaning she DIDN'T/COULDN'T do this before.) They rob the rich and give to the poor. They're helpful, but very limited. Whitley helps on a grander scale thanks to his resources, so he sees them as a benefit to his cause, yet small fry/minimal.

      1. 1. What's the SB thread called? I'll check it out maybe later today or just sometime this week.

        2. Hmmm, wonder if Whitley would try to help get Robyn on the council much faster if he can do anything about that.

        1. I actually already sent it to you!

Also, I don't know the answer for that one. On one end, he definitely supports Robyn as a person, but Ironwood had completely justified reasons for his decisions (before V8 made him flush his brain) so if Robyn joins and holds up Ironwood, that would be bad. If we meant joining the Council OUTSIDE of that, though, then probably.
