i am getting the distinct feeling that simon only being partially transfured isnt actually true. and is just a lie hes telling himself to remain sane. it seems like his entire body has been fully converted. hes just forcing his body into a human form. or at least as much of a human form as he can. if you cut him open, youd find that all of his insides have been reduced to black slime.

    1. He was unconscious for the procedures K and Lavos performed on him, so it's more than likely he slept through his transfur, it was for the best though, one probably shouldn't be awake when someone installs a special little bolt into the back of your skull. As a result Simon didn't experience any mental drift, but it also meant he's more convinced he should be human. He's not intentionally lying to himself, but this is going to get him in trouble with things like Sentinels. They can't boot loop him, but they'll certainly rip him to gooey shreds if they get the chance.

absolutely crazy that the thing in his neck (is it in his neck? of his entire physiology is latex based now then it is functionally just floating in there) means that he is now technically something like a cephalon, his mind isnt in his body its in the crystal and he is just controling his body. in a way its an even worse existential crisis than if he just decided to take whatever personality changes transfur would bring. at least it would be if he actually thought about it for a while. luckily simon doesnt seem the sort to overanalyze such things so hes safe... for now

        1. (It was in the back of his head.) I wouldn't compare him to a cephalon crystal floating around in a latex body. I'm not sure how to describe what they did to him in universe but essentially they kind of, pulled his mind out of his body, the transfur happened, then they popped him back in when it was safe.
