So beautifully written and so delicately crafted. There's so much fragility and vulnerability in Todd. My heart goes out to him in extreme empathy at times. Although I am a diehard, dedicated devotee of Neil Perry, I sometimes find myself switching loyalties in favour of Todd Anderson. In a way, Todd was the real hero of 'Dead Poets Society'. An unsung hero, of course.
ahhh thank you so much! i too, am a diehard neil perry fan — i adore him, always have — but there’s just something about todd that really gets under your skin, right? all that fragility and quiet bravery. the way he feels everything so deeply but barely lets it show… it makes you want to root for him with your whole heart.
i totally agree that todd is the real hero of dps. he’s the one who grows, who finds his voice, who dares the most in the end. and I love that so much of that courage comes from neil — but that it’s still his to claim. 🌙
