Comment on TOS Spotlight: Harassment

I'm sorry, that made me laugh.

Erhm that aside, so it reads to me like it's a synonym for antis doing their usual crusades. Interesting.

Side note, I always found it really odd how sex is the one thing that makes certain people go balls to the walls, but never violence. No one will bat an eye if you shoot someone fictional 16-year-old dead, but if that same character has sex, nah man, then we gotta call the internet police. It's the "violent video games don't make people violent, but explicit stuff that's not vanilla paste makes people freaks" split again, and I say this as someone who's 70% sentient vanilla extract. It's the weirdest selective outrage, but hardly surprising given the zealously religious foundation that permeates a lot of countries.

One has to wonder if those antis are aware of horseshoes...if you catch my drift.

      Exactly this, yes.

Yes to everything in your side note. The selective outrage is very strange to me too—and I’m saying this as a sex-repulsed grey-ace who enjoys kinky smut in fiction.

Murder and graphic violence? A-ok (outside of the “violent video games makes people violent” myth that was debunked decades ago and only hardcore conservatives still believe). Kinky sex? Even the mildest of BDSM scenarios? Let alone any type of queer sex (kinky or vanilla)? Cue pearl clutching and selective outrage.

I do. And somehow, I doubt they are. But who knows.
