    Oh honey, I'm so sorry. Losing animals we love and watching loved ones go through loss is so hard. I hope y'all find some peace soon.

    I do love a good arranged marriage fic, though I've never written one. Historical AUs have to be exceptional for me to read them. I'm not necesarily a fan of age gap so much as I am a fan of something structural in their way... age, societal norms, being on the wrong sides of a war.

    And I love ABO, too. I'm working on a fic that isn't exactly ABO, it is a world were being a Dom, submissive, or null is biological. The working title is "smutty smut smut smut" though, so I'm not sure if I'm going to ever actually post it on here

      Thank you it's incredibly rough, even when they are older or sick you still are just... heartbroken.Every single time.

      Arranged marriage has been a jam since I was like twelve and found Harry Potter Marriage law fics. I moved on from a lot but the trope remains.
      And historical..... probably a mix of being a nerd and similar things to abo with the constraints of society and different social norms..

      The age gap thing I like.the drama and the difference in life experience and ...I dunno I got in grandma's harlequin and other old school romances.as a kid and it changed me.

      Ooooh listen I read one of those in
      ....marvel fandom years ago that was fricken magic so.you should publish it...you know.

        Ah yes, HP marriage law fics and our grandmother's romance novels... I see you and I were raised on a similar diet.

        I love the stakes that come with historical AUs, but couldn't imagine ever doing enough research to do one justice. And I often find writers to either be too light and hand-wavy at the research or so heavy handed that I'm getting impatient waiting for plot.

        And your comment about the rarepair cause made me literally snort out loud. So thank you for that.

          Great grandma had boxes of them and ya know apparently there was no need to regulate 90% of my reading and....well when your the most tech savvy person in the house as a preteen and no one in the house knows what "fanfiction is...

           

          Yeaaaaa it can be a problem for sure, though I love a good like Austen inspired fic or more historical fantasy so the details don't have to be 100%

          Listen, the rarepair teams deserve all the shameless smut and I'm sure everyone else would agree, we'll take a poll.
