I am so far really really enjoying this. This fandom is a bit slow these days so seeing new fic, especially REALLY GOOD new fic of my favorite 'fucked up, but working at some semblance of being less fucked up' pairing. I love how you write Hinata. He remembers everything, and he's accepted it as best as one could in such a fucked up situation. But, he's also clearly changed due to his merging with Kamukura with how he's more aloof and gets into bored Moods (which is a headcanon that I actually already had and I love that you use it too). He's still Hinata, but you write him as a really good mix of Dangan Island Hinata and Kamukura Izuru. And then I love how you write Komaeda - who at least to me seems pretty hard to write with how smart and manipulative he is and with such a unique fucked up POV - so, like, I'm impressed.
Also that whole scene where Hinata bumps into Tsumiki and they almost get into an apology loop was really funny. Have I mentioned how much I love how you write Hinata as occasionally saying hilarious awkward shit and then cringing super hard at himself? It's great how you balance really serious intense scenes with more light-hearted ones. It helps balance the mood of the overall chapter so it doesn't feel too heavy or too frivolous. So yeah, I'm super excited for the next chapter! You keep doing you! : )
hey i know i've been super late getting to this (lately i've been sinking all my down time into working on the story rip) but thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment!
the way kamukura manifests in hinata's personality is super fascinating to me and there are so many different ways to tackle it but i'm glad the way i've done it hits a chord with you and your interpretation! i really enjoy the process of writing hinata, and komaeda too, actually, even if sometimes they make me want to rip my own hair out lmao.
hinata's interactions with 77-b are all precious to me and honestly part of the reason why this story is so much longer than i originally intended, so there'll be more of that haha. i think balance is kind of crucial in writing hinakoma, because while there's obviously a certain gravity to their interactions it frequently slingshots into the more ridiculous :)
but thanks so much again - i'm trying to get the next part done asap! xxx
