Great chapter and start, my friend, and well, nice to see the expansion of Sonic's story on the 'Chain of Generations' side, starting a whole new story for him, which makes sense as the Shadow/Aqua was already really long anyways, so Sonic's story being added would be too much, but this way, it all starts fresh on here.
Good recap at the start, helps recap what happened in the first story, and makes sure readers know where all the characters, when this adventure starts at last.
And that was a nice bit with Ansem you had there, where he recalls what happens with Gerard, and Maria's death, and the Ultimate Lifeform, and how it was all ruined at the end of it, sadly.
Finally, we see Classic Sonic also, and what he was doing before it all went down. This was just a normal day for him, defeating Robotnik's robots, and fighting Robotnik himself, or about to fight, in this case, until the reality was messed up by our "friend" Terios.
Reminds me of how you showed what the rest of the Sonic cast was doing in your KH1 fic rewrite before darkness took over.
