   The "red stars" often remind me of the visors from those GUN soldiers who cornered him and Maria. You know when. And they disappeared when Shadow started rambling about letting Maria die and all.

      I feel like I'm just subconsciously referencing the lore at this point. I always enjoy seeing people point out what they notice, because sometimes it was wholly unintentional... as it was in this case!
