I can see that this chapter has stirred something deep in you too, right? I was completely stunned. Honestly, reading those scenes where Sasha and Alina are worried about each other made my chest tighten. I needed those emotions. I needed to see that they still care, that even after everything they’ve been through, their concern for leach other is still alive, still burning beneath everything else. It was painful and beautiful at the same time. You can feel how much they mean to one another, even in silence, even in fear.
The babies being amplifiers is such a powerful element in this story, and I truly believe that everything will turn out well in the end. Ewa isn’t the kind of writer who throws pain into a story just to shock or upset. She builds meaning, she makes the journey worth every twist. So even though we’re all tense and hurting now, I still trust her completely.
When it comes to Alina’s pregnancy, though... it’s hard not to worry. If I’m holding onto hope that all will be well later, I can’t forget what Ivan once said. Grisha women rarely conceive. The chances are already low when one parent is Grisha. And here we have two—Sasha and Alina both incredibly powerful. This has never happened before.
