Comment on The Fall

  1. Kuhl, Aleina, Jhelnae, and Sky

Whew, this one was long and action packed! A lot of ground was covered.

    >>“I have an idea,” Lereia interrupted the discussion with a low growl. “Why don't we hide in one of these side rooms? If we're lucky, the two groups will meet and fight each other.”

    Lereia with the genius idea.

    >>Naghûl's heart sank when he glanced over Sgillin's shoulder and recognized an imposing marilith, wielding swords in four of her six arms.

What the what! What kind of DM are you? A Marilith? You are very cruel. Note there is no Marilith in the Out of the Abyss campaign, so I added one...

    >>all hell broke loose

Well, considering these are demons and not devils... ;)

    >>Kiyoshi used his newly acquired dragon powers to burn the grilles of his cage with a fiery breath.

Kiyoshi, adapting quickly to his new powers, nice!

    >>“Support Garush!” Naghûl shouted as he prepared one of his most powerful spells.

Considering how he originally felt about her, this is a progress. :)

    >>Then Lereia, back in her tiger form, leaped at the beast's flank and dug her claws deep into its flesh.

For some reason I got the image of Lereia hastily shedding clothes before she changed. I hope she wears something convenient so she isn't hopping around on one foot trying to rip off a boot saying, "Hold on, I'm coming..."

    >>After all the blood, dirt and fighting, it seemed unreal and like a dream to suddenly find themselves in a bright forest, flooded with soft, silvery light.

That would be a welcome relief. Good call, Erin.

    >>The amazon immediately raised a hand. “Please don't, Yel. A simple yes or no will suffice. No offense.”

I listened to this and so I heard this as 'Please don't yell'. But now that I see it, she gave him a nickname. How cute!

    >>When Naghûl and Sgillin stepped out of the hut, they could still hear snoring coming from the small house next to them – Kiyoshi.

I can snore as well after a rough night, Kiyoshi...

    >>Dilae sighed with one last look at the trees. “I'd love to stay here.”

Yeah, it would be tough to go back out in the Abyss after this...

    >> “They look exactly like the ones at the Hall of Pain in Sigil.”

That is creepy! I was a big Doctor Who fan back in the day, but I never saw the more recent stuff with the weeping angels. But I worried for a bit that this might have inspired you...

    >>Here rests the guy who tried to prevent the downfall in the last cycle?

    I enjoyed this world building...

    >>So Kiyoshi was the chosen bearer of Hope.

This made me smile. You know, if you'd given Hope to one of the NPCs, that would have been very disappointing for the players!!

    >> And just as Yelmalis had suspected, after Jana was the last to step on the rune in one of the points, a teleportation spell was triggered ...

Great chapter. Lots of stuff happened. Wow!

Haha! XD I'm looking forward to your marilith!

We actually discussed this very issue in the group. So Lereia's player always described how Lereia wears clothes for such missions that she can take off very quickly and easily. ;-)

I forgot that you are often listening to the story, but now that you mention it ... yes, that makes sense. XD - Yeah, his group sometimes uses this nickname, mainly Garush and Dilae. He' not *that* enthusiastic about it, but I also think it's cute. :-)

To be honest, when I came up with the idea, I wasn't immediately aware of the parallel. But i realized it quite soon. XD

I think so, too. That Kiyoshi would be the bearer of Hope was clear to me very early on when I was designing the quest line.

Thanks for reading, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :-)
