Oh god that was beyond brilliant. Not even sure where to start but I loved the opening of the chapter with John's backstory being so competent and strong before his wound. That broke my heart but really nicely done. Then when he first sees Sherlock and mistakes him fora mannequin, I was stunned how wonderfully investing you wrote that scene. I was captivated right along with John.
Sherlock approach to sex was so devastating and practical poor thing, but gosh I loved it. And I'm in love with how you've written John finding in Sherlock the first mate he can fully engage with. That was a brilliant touch and brings to mind moments from the show along with giving Sherlock more specialness to John.
Thank you so much for the effusiveness. I am beyond thrilled. I worked and reworked each presentation of the characters to try and fit in as many feels as I could. It's always dismayed me when John was alone in the beginning. He was so sad, and now he's not. I love the alternative first meeting, and I especially enjoyed how this one worked out. Thank you again.
