yaaaas lance is honestly so intelligent in canon with that rare sort of perceptiveness, like he comes up with brilliant strategies on a whim as if it's obvious to do that, he's great at that kind of thinking outside of the box stuff, but he gets overshadowed by pidge or hunk who are textbook smart and good at all things tech, plus he's oblivious and sometimes acts like a class clown/comic relief and people keep forgetting that being a class clown doesn't automatically make u dumb lol
