    NOT THE HUG NOT THE HUGGG “ Merlin would have laughed at the clumsy and inexperienced Pendragon Hug which Arthur approached like a mission to accomplish, until he wanted to cry even more because Arthur had probably never been given enough proper hugs to know how one felt.” HOW DARE YOU. The Hurt/Comfort was so good. The way Arthur repeated Merlin’s words, him so gentle and caring. I’m an Arthur girlie so i love all these bits abt him.
    Also i think the writing of the Great Dragon was on point, usually the bond between him and merlin is described too close (which it’s great bc we love happy feels) but i don’t think that in the series it was showed that way, or at least in season 4 (as far as i can remember).

    “Arthur has already laid the foundation for a peaceful Albion. The kingdom will continue to thrive in the future.” which is basically what happened in the series. I’m gonna be SICK. So UNFAIR omg.

    Love the angst and Merlin thoughts, feeling powerless and also especially the emphasis abt the fact that what’s breaking him more is losing Arthur as person instead as prophetised king (which yeah obvious, but it really GETS you yk?). Btw i believe in Merlin, but seeing him losing his mind during timeloops kinda has the appeal ngl😙 but i love him i swear. Thank u for this chapter!❤️

      i love arthur dude. its so sad that he's basically lived his whole life kind of on this pedestal where no one can reach him (except merlin) and it def shows in his inability to express emotion. but hes trying. i love him

      lowkey i dont remember a lot of season 4 either.... or a lot of the entire series in general, because i watched this show like 4 years ago and have been only consuming fan content in these 4 years. like what even is canon anymore. i actually had to do a decent amount of research LMAO but hopefully it pays off!!
