At least... Now they just have to realize it, accept it, and be honest.
Really is the main reason who I love analyzing and writing about Jamil. It's like: "It's so fucking sad, devastating and difficult to solve... But not impossible. Yes! I'll find a way for him to archieve his freedom and happiness. (If it's with a sleepyhead lion, even better)"
There's also just not a lot of it in general, due to Kalim being nice and shipping people really downplay just how casually he is exploited, like I've never seen people really talk about how he was supposed to be the dorm leader, does anyone even realize that, like its implied Yuu sees those cut scenes after the overblots, but no one else seems to. Also, Kalim's lab wear vinettes what the Hell
This! I know sound strange and it's a so unpopular opinion, but in the beginning, Kalim don't I liked so much like all the fandom. Even I passed all Scarabia's book calling him "Tantrum-throwing little prince". (That it is not noticed who Jafar is my Disney Villain favorite all the ways, and Iago my favorite henchman) Eventually I took appreciation for him, but I can't prevent think from time to time: "Dude... You're cute and nice, but very idiot too. If your dad don't being multimillionaire, and don't you had to Jamil taking car for you and fixing your messes, you would be fuck along with all your dorm since a long time."
I know, like I have an appreciation for all of the characters in twst, but the fact that his very very real issues get overlooked because he's nice is insane. Like he doesn't listen to anyone ever, and like I know that this is taught helplessness by his family mandating that Jamil do literally everything, but holy fucking shit. He plans a party and only informs Jamil of it day of (when they already have homework they need to do) that he expects him to cater it. And while he did end up hiring other people to do it, it took him and Ruggie doing the cooking, and hiring Octavinelle to service it, and he never clues in he expected Jamil to do all of this on a whim. Also Ruggie was literally the only one who was upset by the cancellation (because food) and he never realized that either
Not to mention Kalim is almost always causing trouble. And I know he doesn't do it on purpose, but dude... It's one thing to have money (SO MUCH money) and to have grown up in an overprotective family (with questionable traditions), and it's quite another to be just plain incompetent, reckless and inconsiderate. Ironically, when someone finally say him: "You're being a little idiot", he understand that and behaves. (Vil, when said his voice and dance don't was good enought, and when together with Leona scold him and Lilia for make too much noise and don't let sleep to others. Too when Jade, Floyd and Azul gave him a reality hit in the climax Sacarbia's book. Or when Silver scold him for be reckless and almost leave them exposed in the Jamil's dream.)
Yeah like he wants to learn but the system he was born in was set up to make him incompetent at the cost of others, primarily Jamil, and no one's really realizes just how bad that statement is. They see small moments not realizing just how big that trend is
It's also weird that people act like Jamil jumped straight to sabotage, or could have just told Kalim. Like Jamil's parents hit him for saying no to a game as a child, he didn't have the option to say no or point out that Kalim was exploiting him. And as for changing his station, entering NRC, only for Kalim to decide he wanted to attend too, and the Asim's bribing his way in
Kalim wants to learn, and has sometimes shown that he is a quick learner and have a quick though, but he's so used to someone else resolve and make all for him, doesn't take anything seriously. Sometimes I think he could be a good student if he effort seriously, and didn't have someone to rescue him. He already showed it in the VDC under the Vil's command.
Seriously I wonder why everyone think Jamil is exaggerated or dramatical. Duce... He's a SLAVE. Has passed all his life taking risks for Kalim and suffering for his foolishness, AGAINST HIS WILL. The poor unfortuned soul is totally traumatized
Yeah he is quite literally by definition a slave, but they keep using softening words for it, servant, attendant, retainer, etc, and of course the English localization butchered it further
It's extra concerning with how many people are turning to straight up fascism too
Which one thing I'm happy I developed as a MHA villain fan is asking the question of what were they supposed to do? Because if there isn't a reasonable option than that only leaves drastic measures
