Chapter Text

(No One's POV)

Marie was laying on her brother's arm. She was no longer a junior research assistant. Today she got promoted and will be working with new doctors and not just her brother. Jack stoked her hair worrying this was his sister and he knew the other five doctors she is working with. Kondraki might hurt her feelings. Clef will most likely hurt her. Glass was okay, Gears she might end up smothering in his breasts. Iceberg, he had no idea what she does with him. He sighed and woke up his sister who pressed his face. He smiles.

"what are you doing?" He asks.

"Looking for the snooze alarm." She groans.

He shakes his head. "Come on we got to get TJ up." He says and she nods.

They were TJ Guardians. Sort of sometimes like mom and dad. Even though TJ has been on this earth longer than her. Marie makes sure none of her body is injured before waking TJ up who smiles at her.

She helps him up and gets him dressed for the day. They head down to the cafeteria. Jack got staff to watch his brother and take care of him like a babysitter almost. They all sat having breakfast. Marie and Jack talked while TJ enjoyed his pancakes.

"So who will I be working with today?" Marie asks eating some fruit.

"you'll be working with Dr. Simon Gla-what the fu--um- bad word." Jack said as TJ looked up. "It's supposed to be Glass." Marie let out a laugh at Jack's anger.

"Who is it?" "Dr. Alto Clef" he nearly spat out as Marie burst out laughing, not caring about how loud she was.

"Oh God, you hate him, I remember how much you complain about him." She laughs.

(Clef was a little drunk and may or may not have said some things XD Bright legit was pissy about it)

"I do not want you with him, what is the heck is the O5 council thinking?" He says and Marie picks up TJ.

"I do not know, but I got to get to work." She kisses her little brother's cheek and hands him to Jack. "I will see you on my break TJ."

She walked away and made her way to the wing she be working in. She was not working with SCPS yet more so as an assistant for the doctors.

Honestly..she was actually glad to not work with SCPS right now..

Not yet at least.

She shook her head as she smiled as she was walking before someone opened the door for her as saw The guards.

"Oh, thanks!" She said as she continued on her way. That was a close call—

Until she missed a step as she tumbled to the ground, or almost did as she grabbed the railing she let out a sigh of relief before a screw came loose as it broke off the wall causing her to fall the rest of the way.

She groaned but managed to stand up as she brushed her hair back and walked to the wing as she opened the door before stopping to grab her badge before walking forward, barely avoiding being crushed under the heavily weighted door.

"Hey sorry I'm late! I'm all good! I just fell down the stairs"

Dr. Clef was sitting at his desk when he heard the new research assistant come in. He looked up to see her and stopped. She is so hot. He smirks and stands up walking over to her.

"You must be Dr. Bright." He says. "Any relation to the Bright family?"

She smiled and nodded "yup!"

Marie smiled. "Second youngest sibling." She said. "I mean there's actually a lot of us-- go figure. I mean I suppose most kids died before their fifth so you gotta have a bunch. Especially when they are taken away from you--" she stopped mid-sentence, just staring before she snapped out of it and gave a wide smile.

"I love working here. It's a lot better than being on the other end- I'm Marie Bright- did I say that? Anyway! I'm your new assistant at least for now. I was supposed to be with Glass- I've met glass a few times. He has candy. I like candy- do you have candy? Oh but I don't like things like black licorice. It tastes bad."

Clef found her adorable. How could someone be so innocent? "I do not have candy, but I will buy you some at the break. We will be going through old files. The foundation wants us all to back up old files. Just in case this place burns downs all files will be back up on thumb drives." He says. "I am Alto Clef."

She smiles and nodded. He showed her how to back up the files. She did her best she messed up a few times but soon got the hang of it. "Dr. Clef?" She asks him.

"Yeah?"

"Why does Jack hate you?" She asks suddenly.

He stopped and looked at her.

"Oh, old Jack a boy? Oh, who knows. I know why I hate him he stole my gun." He said not wanting to get into the full history

"Is that when he filled it with confetti?" She asks him and he looked at her.

"Yes." He says. "He also took the drink machine to make it into my urine (A SCP that can make any liquid) and poured it into Dr. Kondraki's suitcase."

She made a face at that one. "ew..."

"There are others. But I think what he was most concerned about.." he said as he smiled and looked down at her. "Is that I'd charm his little sister." He said as she looked at him before giggling as she smiled.

(Marie is attention stareved XD)

"Oh really?" She asks playing with her hair smiling and Clef and her end up goofing off for the next hour. Marie was having a great time.

"So tell me, Marie, how are you Jack's sister, when you are so much cuter than him?"

(Marie is an attention whore XD she is starved for positive attention)

She blushed as she pushed her hair behind her ear

"Good genetics. They were the test drives. That's why I'm perfect." She said smiling.

Clef smiled at that. "Yes, you are." He says with such love.

"You are very sweet Dr. Clef." She says. "So very sweet."

She smiled as she picked up her mug of hot chocolate as they got up to go to break as he was talking about all his accomplishments in the foundation as they made it to the stairs, seeing the broken railing.

"Oh gosh, I wonder what kind of candy they have. I've always loved candy. It used to be like a really big tre-oh!" She turned around. I forgot my badge!" She was about to run down the stairs but unfortunately- she misstepped m, and once more went tumbling down the stairs as clef turned to look at her with concern.

(Clef's POV)

I stared at Marie as her eyes were pierced with the cup and I pick her up as she says over and over she is okay. I take her to the infirmary where the nurse sighs and has him put her down. "Do not worry Clef she will be fine." the nurse says and Clef goes to wait sitting and thinking if she will be alright.

He gets up and starts to pace, then an hour has gone by and a man starts to come down the hall. It was Jack and he punched me in the face. Hard.

I stumbled back at that, having to grab the wall behind me. His skinny frame was misleading.

"What the fuck Bright'?"

"You got MY Sister hurt you son of a bitch!" He screams. "I am going to kill you!"

The door opened suddenly as Marie came out, a bandage over her eye.

"Oh- Oh jack no! No no no! Stop it! Stop it, please! Oh Jack he didn't do anything! So please stop it!" She cried out having to pull him off. She clung to Jack and sobbed. "Pl-Please stop I-I don't want t-to go back, please!"

Jack stopped his glare and instead turned to her and pulled her into him.

"Okay. Okay..you're okay."

She was sobbing and then Glass walked by a stopped. "Marie? Jack? Clef?" He asks looking at the scene

"Oh- perfect. Glass- you good to do an impromptu therapy appointment?" Bright asked. "I- so was kinda hoping to go on break- but I-I guess. What happened?"

"He happened." We both said at the same time

"As you can see I was teaching the rookie, and she fell and hurt herself then jack came and punch me!"

"You Got MY Sister Hurt! You should not be even near her!" Jack shot back at me.

"I didn't get her hurt! She left her keycard behind and needed it and she fell down the stairs! Beyond that she was supposed to be with me!" clef yelled as Marie covered her ears.

"She should not be anywhere near you! There is a reason every woman stays away from you!" He shoots back.

"That is enough both of you!" Glass says firmly and we both look at him. "You both are acting like children and making Marie upset. Clef, go write the incident report. Bright go call your brother. Marie."

She looked at him tears in her eyes.

"Come to my office, I think SCP 999 can help." He takes her hand and glared at us.

I glared at Bright and then stormed off. How dare he make her cry!

I hated him- oh I couldn't stand him!

I slammed the wall as I passed before sighing.

(Glass pov)

I brought Marie to my office and SCP 999 was in my chair digging in the candy bowl. "I told you to wait." I laugh smiling, he was so sweet, I unwrap chocolate for him.

I throw it up as he expanded to catch it as it was absorbed into him. Marie looks at him and he moves over to her and climbs on her lap making her smile. He was able to use his anomaly to make anyone happy. The thing was he was the son of the scarlet king and the only one that might be able to stop him.

I looked over at them as I knew it wouldn't really affect her as fast, unfortunately as much as she was pretty much immune to the bad of her anomalous properties, she was also pretty much immune to the good of other positive anomalous properties, like 999.

"What happened Marie?"

"I fell. I-I didn't mean to cause a fight- I-I don't want to go back." She said.

Marie was here before I was. She was here before the SCP foundation really started to try and handle the SCPs.

I took an interest in her and have been her therapist. Helping her learn social cues. She spent most of her immortal life with the foundation. Unfortunately, they always did not care for them. Only when Jack found out about his three siblings here did he get outraged. It took him five years though to have Marie and TJ out. TJ has low mental capacity and Marie has severe untreated PTSD. That is where I came in. Being one of the main doctors assigned to her. Last year Jack as me to be one of her main doctors. He could not do it for family reasons and her last one got eaten by SCP 682. I have been her only doctor for a year. Though I heard she will be getting a new one along with me. I believe it was Dr. Gears. He was unbiased and efficient. He also managed the anomalist doctor Clef and her brother. To make sure they followed their rules.

"You are not going to go back, the foundation is not like that anymore." I promise her and she nodded a sad smile on her face as she holds 999 closer.

She may not be affected by Him right away or as much. But she still found him to be a good emotional support. Almost like a dog or kitten.

"Marie, do you..remember much about your earlier days here? We said we'd talk about that."

"I...I don't want to talk about it."

"Okay, we will do that later, let's talk about Dr. Gears." I say so she won't be blindsided

She didn't seem happy at all.

"I don't want another doctor!" She said now placing SCP 999 down as he snuggled up to her leg.

"I-I don't want another one! N-No more! I-I just got used to you and you're already throwing me away!" She said sounding angry before she grabbed into me, her mood now sad and desperate.

"A-Was it something I've done? I-I'll make it right."

Marie was almost in full panic. "Marie no, no, no. I will still be your doctor. This one is just to make sure you work well. He is in charge of keeping doctors with scp under management. He will help make working here easier." I promise her. "Your brother, Jack and Doctor Clef are both supervised and managed by him."

She was clearly upset as I put my hand on her shoulder as she was shaking.

"Now sit down, take a breath and have a piece of candy." I said as she sat down and reached into the bowl
