Chapter 4: What happened?

Uhm sorry, this took a while and was this short I’m dealing with some stuff and I also had some trouble deciding the path I wanted to go down with this fic.

“Bosha”, Luz spat the name with a frustrated tone as if they had just downed cough syrup. “What do you want with me? what could I possibly be of use for?” “You’ll have to wait and see, human.” The cyclops snapped back reflecting their tone. “Now Kiki I suggest we get to work, but first we must shut them up.” “Of course Bosha, will this curtain do?” “Perfect. Night night human” Bosha said as her speech faded into villainous giggling, then she veiled the tablet and Luz was put away.

“Ugh! I hate it in this stupid place!”, Luz says angrily. “Wow! I sound like the collector” they go on a small tangent, “if I’m alone in here am I talking or thinking” “Well is your mouth opened or closed” the voice backstage in her mind supplied. “It is, so then I’m not just thinking thanks!” They proudly realized before, “but then aren’t you just thinking aloud?” “I hate myself… and you too.”

 

Luz resigns to visually surfing the area for anything interesting but it’s just an ongoing flatness as far as they can see with none of those weird cubes from its relative. The human starts pacing the land wondering what the bully that covered them wanted them for and how time moves in this realm. As they’re making their way back to their start they realize they can’t recognize it as it blends in with the landscape, “%**$!!!”.

It’s been a minute, of course not truly that’s just a saying, or at least Luz doesn’t think it’s been just a minute, it’s been a while, that’s better. Luz has been walking the “land” for as long as she has and still nothing until…

 

“Ah! ¡¿Qué diablos?!” They fell onto their posterior. Luz had slipped on something, in reaching for their foot they found a small squid plush colored bright pink with cyan and violet stars littering its fabric. The stitching is rough and inconsistent clearly homemade. “Awe, what a cute plush!” Luz now holds the plush in their palm. “Why’s there an opening here?” They carefully remove the stuffing in the area not wanting to ruin their stuffed companion.

 

They retrieved some sort of necklace from the toy, under examination it consists of a metallic blue star and crescent moon connected at two points. Luz decides to don the necklace ignoring the script that finds its way out of the toy with the necklace. Placing in round their neck their eyes start to glow.

Luz was now wearing long braided white blonde locks, with skin spilt between moderate orange and royal purple and a white sun imprinted on their purple cheek, dressed in a trench coat that reached their heels and a corduroy textured pair of overalls that have a tee beneath. They floated above muck below them slowly spinning while breathing in short breaths and holding a panicked look in their eyes. What happened?

Notes:

Again sorry it’s short but I felt like I was dragging some stuff out otherwise and I wanted Luz to be the main focus. Next chapter will probably be longer. Also I’ve decided to sporadically swap between they/them and she/her pronouns for Luz because why not? It just feels sorta right for Luz. Hope you enjoyed!
