Summary
From birth, some people were granted special abilities to help them help others. After three of the first people earned their abilities, other townspeople started suspecting who'd get them next. Every single one of those predictions came true.
Except for Michael.
When Michael was born, people prepared for him to get his own powers, much like the other people they'd assumed would get them. When he didn't, everyone just assumed he was a late bloomer, and he was still whisked away to the mansion - a house for people with powers to live, to learn and to act like a happy, shiny family.
Years later, Michael is still without powers, but full of questions. Especially when one of the other house-members disappears after a heated argument with the head of the house. And everyone seems to think Rich left years ago, but Michael remembers seeing him pace the halls just a few days ago.
Things are starting to fall apart in their shiny, happy hivemind, and Michael thinks he knows how to get answers - but where do you look for someone who doesn't want to be found? And why is the perfect house starting to deteriorate?
