Summary
“I have nowhere to be imminently,” Mihawk tells him, feeling no need to reveal this is a rather permanent state of being. “I don’t mind extending my stay on this island through tomorrow. Why don’t you keep me company tonight?”
Corazón’s eyes grow impossibly wide, pupils eclipsing the deep amber blood moons floating amidst milky white. His cigarette tumbles from his mouth in shock, its flickering end igniting his skintight denims. A spool of smoke unravels from the nascent bonfire on Corazón’s thigh: the world’s tiniest SOS.
He doesn’t seem to notice.
--------
Mihawk is sent to recruit the infamous Joker into the Seven Warlords of the Sea, but the one who catches his eye is not Doflamingo.

Summary
Mihawk has to fight to keep the shock from his face. It’s the closest he comes to a defeat in years.
Before him stands the man who has remained in the back of his thoughts since the moment they parted. There is a child in his arms, visibly ill and very much unconscious, drenched in rainwater and seawater and the saltwater dripping from Corazón’s cheeks. Mottled white patches blotch his skin like bleach stains.
“Hi,” Corazón rasps with a shaky little wave. His wobbly grin goes straight to Mihawk’s chest: the warm, unfamiliar feeling from their last encounter blooms with a vengeance, overtaking fields lying dormant for a fifth of a decade. “Remember me? We fucked once like, two years ago?”
It’s phrased like a question, as if there could possibly be more than a single answer. As if Mihawk could ever forget him, forget that night.
Corazón’s clutch on the boy tightens. His raw voice seems to choke its way out of his throat.
“Help me.”
--------
In a moment of desperation, Corazón seeks out the warlord he spent a brief yet passionate night with two years prior. What he finds is so much more than a helping hand.
