Summary
The old Connor—weathered, reflective, half-retired from the world he once fought to protect—finds an Isu artefact, which doesn’t just send him back, it drops him too far back, before his own existence is even possible.
He intervenes instinctively—because that’s who he is—saves his mother, and in doing so unravels the delicate thread that would have led to his own birth. Now he’s caught in a paradox where he must make his parents fall in love, while the universe, and perhaps their own natures, resist his attempts.
This is a love story, while Ziio isn’t the Juliet here.
And it’s much longer than I expected, and harder to write too.
You will find: Connor travels to Damascus and Alamut, Holden lives, little Haytham and Edward’s scene through memory, Shay and Connor become friends, and Haytham leads his Templar army.

When he started developing feelings for Haytham that he knew he shouldn't have, he made a point to dress rather inappropriately in hopes of gaining the man's attention. Crop tops and hot pants, plunging v-line shirts, tight clothing, joggers that accentuated his body - leaving little room to the imagination, he had hoped he could one day get what he wanted. What started off as tender moments between father and son turned into something more dark and illicit, with Connor craving domination, and Haytham all too ready to dominate.
