Summary
Hilda never wanted to be a student at the Officers Academy. She hates the gruesomeness of battle and the expectations her new professor places upon her. It was a mistake that her family sent her here—she would much rather squander her potential than admit she has it.
When a string of frightening occurrences begins to plague Garreg Mach, however, Hilda finds herself swept up in solving the mystery with a ragtag group of schemers. She and her new friends unearth long-held secrets both good and bad…and they all seem to tie back to her strange, elusive classmate, Marianne.
The price of knowledge may prove steep. Hilda will have to seize the responsibility she never thought she’d wield, and ask herself the question: will she do what is safe, or risk everything to protect the pious girl with blood on her hands?
