The boy with the red shoes and the green hair and the freckles sits on Bakugou Katsuki’s desk.
The boy doesn’t speak. Just dangles his legs off the edge, kicking them idly, and leans against the glass of the window behind him. He’s looking at the front, at the teacher, like the lesson matters at all. Katsuki’s gaze slips over to him over and over again, enough that the boy finally looks away from the front of the class to meet Katsuki’s eyes with a grin. Not a nice grin.
At the eye contact, Katsuki’s attention shoots back to the board. The boy doesn’t do the same. His own eyes stay locked on Katsuki, watching. Smiling.
Or: Starting from the day Bakugou Katsuki went too far, he’s been haunted by what he’s done. It takes a while for him to realize that, at some point, you need to leave your ghosts behind.

It was strange, really, to go from being his only chance for survival to not even having control over that. Thinking about it made him nauseous, as did the pain. Leon, in particular, seemed to hover around him more than anyone else, except for maybe the nurses rotating him every two hours. He was almost always his only visitor. Sometimes he would sneak in some shitty fast food and help him eat, just to keep him sane— call him ungrateful, but he would have preferred that the hospital food tasted like more than salt and mush. Every once in a while, a burger would do him some good. In any case, it was better than the scraps he had been eating in Valdelobos.
Still, even when work beckoned for him, Leon would return the next day with an apology and settle into the bedside chair to his left. As much as the sight of him made Luis’s stomach churn, his clean blond hair and genuine smiles brightened his day.
