Summary
It is then, that moment, strikingly clear, that Luffy realizes he doesn’t have a home.
(His grandfather is never here, Makino is good but she isn’t quite family, not in the way he knows it, and he had a small attic to call his without a view of the sea.)
And, quietly, realizes that he doesn’t want one.
Or: Luffy and home, and the way things burn.

Summary
Luffy is here.
Luffy is happy. He smiles, bright and fearless, even if there are new shadows in his eyes and more quiet moments then there used to be. He is still just as strong, stronger even, if more protective of his crew. He’s Luffy – their captain, and their future king.
They weren’t there for him, and he doesn’t care if they weren’t because he’s glad they’re safe but –
Jimbe! Luff cries with joy, when they set a course for Fishman Island, He saved me!
Someone was.
-
Or, Jimbe, Luffy, and unknown shared scars, for the prompt from orcana-scarhallow The strawhats dont know that Jimbe shares the other half of Luffys scar.

Summary
"My captain- my previous one, that is- well, he was much the same."
"Previous one," repeats Rayleigh pensively, and then, just a little more gently, "I'm sorry."
"Thank you," answers Brook in kind, calm and composed, reaching out to refill the cup of tea he must have finished at some point. "Ah- it was a long time ago."
Rayleigh tilts his head, thoughtful. The artificial, harsh lightning of the room makes the scar on his eye stand out much more than it did in the middle of Sabaody's bubbles; Brook wonders how he got it, and when, and ponders how strange it is for him to miss his own scars, even fifty years after losing them.
"A long time ago," echoes Rayleigh, and it feels like this is all this conversation is made of: echoes, too similar to be surprising and too different to be painless.(or: in which Rayleigh talks with Brook, and Brook wonders about Rayleigh, and they both miss their crew so, so much.)

And then there are these moments, where that hurt comes out of nowhere like it’s still brand-new, raw and fresh and bleeding.
“Next time,” Ace says into Luffy’s hair, “call every single number you have until you find me. Do whatever you have to. Kick down doors. Start a riot.”
“Okay,” Luffy says, sounding very young.
“I’m sorry I scared you, Lu. But I swear, I’m not going anywhere. You’re stuck with me. The two of us, we’re a team. We got out, we got free, and now all that’s left is the rest of our lives.” He lets go just enough to lean back, and Luffy looks up at him, as bright and trusting as he was the day they met. “And Sabo’s right here with us, because he lives where we live. He’s watching over us all the time. That’s what brothers do.”
.
I am ugly sobbing right now. They are just too precious.

Summary
And then, so quickly no one saw it happen, the man is reeling back with a broken nose, the creature is swept up and away, and Luffy- cradling it safely against his chest- looks as surprised as the rest of them.
(In which there are absolutely no miraculous returns, and old wounds ache before a rain.)
