In the small, struggling town of Antville, a gang of ruthless bullies known as the Grasshoppers controls the townspeople through fear & intimidation. Flik, a young & inventive outsider, dreams of helping his community but is often misunderstood & blamed for trouble. When a traveling troupe of misfit performers arrives, Flik sees a chance to unite the town’s forgotten & overlooked residents against their oppressors. Atta could barely remember how they began this charade. The memory was beginning to mix in with all the other times they started this— amalgamating and morphing into different occasions. Sometimes, she swears this thing started before their hands were even on each other. He would return her glances with his own—dripping with amusement and hunger. The notion was so slight, Atta wanted to convince herself she imagined it; then she’d look again, only to drown in his engrossed gaze that gave her a little more than his usual aloofness. This was a mistake, and he found it to be her best one so far.

Furious at the ants for losing him his food, Hopper decides to show them what it means to lose something. If he can't take his offering, then Hopper will take their princess instead.
Now Dot finds herself in the clutches of the grasshoppers, stuck in their hideout until they come back for the second offering at the end of the season... if they bring her back at all, that is. She can only hang on to the hope that someone's coming for her... If anyone's coming at all.
Is Hopper telling the truth? Did they really abandon her? No, no that can't be true... right?
