It’s not Campbell’s voice calling his name anymore. It’s softer… warmer…
“Carlos, baby, I need you to stay with me.” Two gentle hands cup both of his cheeks. Everything is cold, so very cold, but the hands are warm against his skin, and for the brief moment that they’re touching him he feels like he can breathe again.
“TK… Tyler?” He mumbles. The words taste bitter and metallic leaving his mouth. He’s not sure how it’s possible that he’s here. They’re too far from Austin for it to really be him. It has to be a dream, one last dream of his husband before he drifts off forever…

Sometimes TK still found it hard to believe this was his home, and that he was lucky enough to share it with his fiancé. TK smiled as the word filled his mind; fiancé.TK paused. A small frown appeared, his head cocking to the side. The bedroom doors were open as TK had walked in, but hadn't he closed them when they had left this morning?
TK turned-the crack reverberated around the apartment. Before he could react, he was moving, being pulled up by the front of his shirt. TK’s back smacked against the wall, a sudden pressure around his neck. TK gasped for air, large hands snaked around his throat.
“You weren’t supposed to be here kid,” The man panted. The man went to speak again when the unmistakable sound of the loft door opening interrupted him.
He heard the sound of a bag dropping, “Babe,” Carlos called as he stepped into the loft, the music still floating through the loft. Relief flooded through TK’s body, but it only lasted a second, his legs almost collapsing under the weight of it.
The intruder smiled, a wide sickening grin. It wasn’t that he wasn’t expecting anyone home. It’s that he was expecting Carlos.
