Summary
She can’t help but hesitate on giving her new daughter a name, unable to shake away the horrible feeling that the baby will die too soon to need one but… when she looks back down at her she tests a name on her tongue.
You know, just in case.
It’s a fruitless endeavour she knows. Her daughter isn’t developing right. At first it was ignorable. Who really cares if she’s a little small, if she still wobbles as she crawls around or if her magic had yet to do much more than flare with weak, useless sparkles. Despite her size or the way she struggles to breathe at times, she appears as healthy as all others. She must just be lagging behind a little, she’ll grow up eventually.
She doesn’t.
