There was this burning in her chest everytime she smiled that unnecessarily bright smile of hers, she felt her eyes often resting on her very open neckline, down to her cleavage, before bringing them back to those tantalizing, big brown eyes staring back at her.

Lady Lesso, retired (she’s not ancient like Sophie claims but she decided retirement would be nice since she’s like really wealthy anyways) collector who now owns a vintage shop, Gavaldon (Cane Street 13), is usually known as “the witch” by nearly everyone. The name came from her only childhood friend, August Sader, who is a renowned musician.
The nickname stuck and Sophie’s constant gossiping spread it around. Agatha thought Lesso was a real witch at first though - the dark mysterious aura and even darker shop with quite so dark and questionable items. They are both studying but they work shifts at the store, and even if they’ll never admit it, they love their cranky redhead boss.
Clarissa Dovey just moved in town. In city, actually. The company she works for is extending a branch, and she brought her whole closet, which was basically a swirl of every colour that existed, but the rented apartment is not exactly spacious. So she asks Emma for help. She’s known Emma since forever, and they still kept in touch, even after Emma moved away, and now, since the history nerd just lives down the block, they go shopping at Ikea.
Oh, and they meet.

Basically, in this story, lesso survived her book 3 death scene. I’ll have a flashback at some point explaining how she survived and like what happened in the book dovey using the crystal ball, and damages her lungs and then she gets more injured in the battle. In this story, she doesn’t die she survives And has to slowly recover from the lung damage, but she can never fully recover because the damage was to much and there was literally a bit in the books where it says how doveys lungs were damaged beyond repair, so if she had survived she wouldn’t of fully healed she would’ve had permanent lung damage so this story basically talks about that and is inspired by that
It will start off with the scene where she is meant to have died, but she survived
Important things about this fanfic
1. I’ve change the story so then lesso is alive in this story line.
2. The story lines are from the books, but the characters are the movie characters
3. The popular Headcanon/theory that Lessos cane in the movie is for a reason is Canon in this fanfic.
4. Unlike the books dovey does survive this scene, but because of how badly injured she was in this scene. She doesn’t survive it unscathed.

Casual is a masterpiece of a song by our lord and savior herself, Chappell Roan. What might be casual that has to do with The School for Good and Evil you may ask. Well, the answer comes in one simple word. Dovesso. They are the most "casual" couple in the ENTIRE series.
Ah yes, I took a knife from my son just to save your life. I couldn't function after you passed away and I'm so much of a wreck that I can't even get my magic to work correctly. When I die all I see is you greeting me with a warm embrace.
That's just what friends do for one another guys! OBVIII!
Anyway, this fic is book-based because the movie, while it is good, is getting on my nerves a little lately. And seeing as we have a VERY small idea of what happened in the school before Agatha and Sophie arrived, this is all highly theoretical and just for entertainment purposes.
I truly hope you enjoy the fic, I planned it out like a good writer does :3
