Summary
The LNER A4 Pacific, Bittern, is named after a bird-like most of his siblings. However, Bittern is afraid of birds and does not appreciate his name.
During a blizzard, the Tidmouth engines discover why Bittern became afraid of birds when Scotsman and Bittern shelter for the night.

Summary
The A4 Pacific, Mallard, is the fastest Steam Engine in the world.
But Mallard thinks his name is silly. It's not the name of a fierce bird, like his siblings, Falcon or Golden Eagle. Nor is it elegant like Wild Swan or embraces his speed like Peregrine.
Upset after being teased by some Stanier engines, Mallard goes to his designer to demand his name be changed. But he finds out that his name means much more than he realises.
