with all of the troubles ricky bowen has gone through in his 18 years of living, daphne has been there through each and every one. now, her parents are getting divorced, and daphne is being separated from her twin sister mirabelle to move to salt lake city with her dad. mirabelle is the perfect child, while daphne is just the extra. but in salt lake, daphne might have the chance to step out of the troublemaking shell she's created for herself and just be. she meets friends, both familiar and new, grows closer to her cousin and her sister, and starts building a new version of herself. one with all the missing pieces she didn't know she had to find.
daphne feels whole. she feels strong. she feels untouchable. (most of the time.)
but then, an accident happens that spirals daphne's life and derails all the success she thought she could have.
daphne must now conquer her inner and outer demons in order to take back what she has lost within herself - whatever it takes. she's not going back to her mom, and she's fighting for her place at east high.

Cramped in a booth at Slices, Nini grinning at his side and Big Red across from him looking cautious and hesitant, Ricky knew he wouldn’t be able to bite his tongue much longer. He felt his skin prickle with heat every time Gina’s name was mentioned, indignant on her behalf, even though she wanted nothing to do with him.
