Drizzts life started out turbulent, and its never stopped being turbulent. However it wont stop him from his few limited goals in life: find a purpose, find where he belongs, resurrect Zak.
A sort of semi-rewrite of the first 7 trilogies (roughly, ignoring the sellswords and some completely lost books due to AU, then after those trilogies hitting full AU territory) focusing more on the characters instead of the world plot. A much larger focus on Drizzt and the trauma he absolutely should have and him finding his people. Alongside major changes to romantic relationships, mainly because I view Drizzt, Cattie and Wulfgar practically as siblings and siblings should not marry each other.
Why would i do this to myself? I'm autistic that's why.NOTE: as of Sept 2025, I'm reworking and at some points re-writing the earlier chapters and parts of the later chapters, along with some general editing. when this note disappears that's your cue to re-read the fic :)

They travel to the Northern Sword Coast, where Gale has contacted two heroes of legend to aid in the quest and guide them through the North: Drizzt Do'Urden and Catti-Brie. This is the story of the quest.
Author's Note: Drizzt and Catti are heavily changed from their book timeline.

Jarlaxle, just Jarlaxle, wants to find love and life while he can, and goes looking in all the wrong places for it; finding more trouble and opportunity than he knows what to do with.
In the end, the lives of these three will collide with violence, love, and morality - all while dark forces work to defeat them at every turn, keeping them from making dangerous history at the Central Faerun MMA Tournament.

There are quite of few different ways this story could have gone. Quite a few different decisions that could have been made. Slight changes in the timeline. All sparking the question, what if?
What if the timing of the end of Homeland was altered just slightly. No more than a few hours. What would happen if the fight between father and son never took place? What if Matron Malice Do'Urden made her moves just a bit more recklessly? How would Zaknafein react if he was told that his son, turned murder, was to be killed in order to appease The Spider Queen? What if Zaknafein was never told the truth of what happened on that surface raid? What if Drizzt Do'Urden, hero of the realms, was killed in sacrifice to Lolth?
There are hundreds, maybe thousands of possible outcomes to this chain of events. But here is one that is not too different from how things happened. But still so unlike what happened.

I'm hoping to write a series of one-shots (or two-shots because I can't seem to write chapters short enough to fit comfortably into one chapter) about Drizzt and Catti-brie because...well, apparently no one else is really doing it. Obviously some people are but there seems to be some slim choices, so here I am!
I can't make any promises I will write anything else, but the first piece is a two-parter that takes place at the end of The Two Swords in The Hunter's Blades trilogy, so major spoilers ahead for that one if you haven't already read it. I myself only just finished the book and decided I needed to do something about it. More thorough descriptions available in chapter summaries.
Also this fic is named after the song "Carry you Home" by Alex Warren because let's face it, it's a perfect song for them.

Match 1. Ship Kurth vs Monastery of the Yellow Rose. A battle between father and son as Zak and Drizzt take to the pitch to settle new scores over fighting styles.
Match 2. Host Tower vs Ship Kurth. Which Baenre brother is the most cunning when it comes to match fixing
Match 3. Dragon sisters vs Ship Kurth. After knocking team Battlehammer literally off the pitch can Ship Kurth survive 90minutes against a team of dragons. More importantly can Artemis Entreri survive egg sitting for a pair of copper dragons.
