Summary
Ren never really considered trusting a cop, much less Public Security, with a deal to clear their names during the summer. And who could blame him, considering their track record.
The more days that rolled by on the whirlwind of a vacation that was supposed to be more play and less work, though... the more he found himself trying to place his faith in one, even amongst his own self-doubts and constant (what he thought were irrational) fears.
As Ren works to overcome his struggles to trust a PubSec investigator after the system failed him, Zenkichi Hasegawa finds himself in a different fight: one that forces him to confront his growing affection for a bunch of kids, the broken system he's worked in for years... and a shadow of himself that he doesn't want to face until he's finally forced to.
