WangXian at the one-month celebration of Jin Ling and MianMian Junior's baby son.
This story was an excuse to paint relationships and indulge a little in contemplation, contrasting impressions, and Jin Ling's view. Not much action.In my storyverse this story comes before 'A New Generation - A Blue Summer Sky' but it grew in my mind after I'd written and posted that one. So if you like to read in order: 'A Blue Summer Sky' followed by 'Grand Celebrations' followed by 'Second Take', but each can also be read as standalone stories.
A lot of family fluff. WangXian in their late forties, Jin Ling and his generation in their late twenties. Wei Ying has a morose turn because he beats himself up over not being able to give Wangji children of his blood. Wangji knows how to handle Wei Ying's crises. Much WangXian tenderness and some loving intimacy between them but no technical descriptions.
Jin Ling loves his Mad Uncle Xian as much as his Angry Uncle Wanyin. Jin Ling and MianMian Jr. (Lady Luo's daughter) are a loving married couple with a new baby son. His Lordship has talent as a baby-sitter (education can never start too early), and Wuxian is promising as baby entertainer.

Not sure what trope it fits. I'm sure it has a plot.WangXian sleep together (loving intimacy, no technicalities, no four-letter words). Wangji's mind reels off into the past, Wei Ying hauls him back to the present. Three parts, all in a single chapter:
1. Blush and Bloom
Wangji recalls the first time he loved Wei Ying in the flesh.2. Flow
They peruse Wei Ying's plaited hair ribbon. Wangji clutches at a lifeline, Wei Ying loses his breath for a few strange moments.3. Jade
Long ago, Wangji gifted Wei Ying a piece of himself. Wei Ying has mastered using it and gives him a taste of it. A demonstration, of sorts.Backdrop: My story 'Love Song'. Post-canon, in my storyverse Wei Ying built them a home on Yiling Mountain. Wangji has resigned his place in the world and retired to live with him. They farm a few paltry fields and visit the markets or descend from the mountain to clear a haunting or sort a minor chaos. They are happy together. (I could never picture them living happily ever after at Cloud Recesses.)
