Summary
The White Council seeks an end to the war without any further bloodshed. Upon reviewing the Accords and Dresden's files they are reminded Harry is part wolfkin. Harry's Clan Head agrees to the Treaty in exchange for becoming a signatory.
In exchange for the Red Court vampires under Ortega not to feed ot turn children Harry agrees to the treaty without a fight. He wasn't expecting to survive the next year anyways. Suffering from the Moon sickness he is weakened significantly. Though his wolf side continues to protect him from vampire venom.
Don Paolo barely took notice of the scrawny, scruffy wizard before he killed Bianca. He held a lot of power but little finesse. Don Paolo expected to be able to kill him easily. Instead he was surprised by the wizard. It was then he decided he wanted young Dresden. So he offered peace in exchange for a few concessions. A few weeks after Dresden leaves with him did he realize the wizard was not well. And if he didn't figure out what was wrong and how to fix it. Dresden would be dead within the year.

About Stephen: Marvel comics’s story line is a mess, and I have problems with the movies too, so I might interpret him more freely. He exists after his two movies, but: Christine is not in the picture, and yes, he’s the Sorcerer Supreme.I write these stories for fun — but if there's anyone else out there who enjoys my weird ideas too, that just makes it even better. ;)

Summary
Hundreds of years ago, Spirits formed contracts with powerful humans. This allowed them to spend time outside of the NeverNever without using their life force. Over time they are forgotten and contracts are no longer formed regularly.
Harry Dresden was once one of the spirits, a wolf in particular. He'd been contracted against his will to Justin DeMorne only to kill him. Despite having a good reason for doing so, he is banished from returning to the place that could restore his life force. 10 years after this he accidentally binds himself to John Marcone through the Soul Gaze. He knows what is happening but decides not to tell John about it. He just watches from the shadows interfering only if necessary. Until Nicodemus attacks John as Harry is on the last legs of his life force.

Time between White Night and Small favor are only a few short months. Lash survives the events in the Raith Deeps, but Harry's psyche takes a nasty blow.He isn't given the chance to recover before he is thrown into a conflict between the Denarians and Marcone. The mental wounds from White Night still throbbed with each heartbeat and reverberated through his fractured psyche. Still he is forced to get involved when his owed favor is called in.
Nicodemus's original plan was to use Marcone to get the Archive. Until he saw how dreadful Dresden looked as he tried to negotiate Marcone's return. Plans changed. The Archive wasn't nearly the prize that Dresden was. Especially now that he was vulnerable. So he turns his plan from capturing the Archive at the Aquarium to capturing Dresden.

When a new Lord or group signs onto the Accords they must have a Knight or group as Protectors. John Marcone didn't know this when he first signed onto the Accords. So the other Lords decide to give him one of theirs. Harry is the unlucky volunteer.
Harry shouldn't have been surprised when he was "volunteered" to become Marcone's Knight. After all, why would the White Council care about him? So he agreed to it expecting to be dead within the year.
Will John be able to give Harry a reason to survive?
